The role of the Professional Services Engineer, Professional Services is to develop, integrate and implement web applications and HTML website developments with our customer marketing media solutions and tools (email, web, content management, print etc). Develop from existing design guidelines through to implementation via a project scope which includes design, spec, prototype, QA and final hand-off live implementation. The PSE will work closely and liaise with Engagement/Project Managers, team Leads, and our own internal application development teams. Your ability to converse in technically depth in the areas of web design, scripting language, UI design and HTML & CSS driven layouts will be key factors to your success in this role.

Key Skills/Attributes of the role:

Strong Technical knowledge – HTML, CSS, JavaScript with a good understanding of ASP and other inline scripting being a strong additional asset. Involvement and work in UI design would be an advantage.
Strong Web Comprehension – web site construction, web and applications server knowledge, the division between content and presentation.
Strong trouble shooting skills
Skill/Knowledge Requirements:

Technical Knowledge: 

Experience in an IT/Web/software development environment
Web Comprehension – an understanding of web methodology, including domain knowledge, wed site terminology and simple web architecture, web site construction, basic HTML understanding, browser and server functional knowledge.
Intimate knowledge of CSS and table-free layouts
Intermediate Photoshop experience

Teamwork/Team Player – has the ability and desire to be a contributor and integral part of the team. Good inter-personal skills, willingness to support and work with others to achieve results and resolve issues. Combined with an open and outgoing personality, this person will be a pivotal player in the Professional Services business.

Self Starter – ability to work independently in the project design, development and implementation cycle alongside good team working and customer interface.

Qualifications:

• High standard of education and qualifications – College and/or University degree in computer science, information systems, or equivalent.
• 3+ years of direct experience in IT and software development in web applications and website development.
• High proficiency in technical implementation environment, development methodology, scripting, HTML etc
• Strong understanding of web development technology: n-tier architecture, web architecture, .NET, J2EE, programming languages, scripting and client side languages like PHP, perl and tag-based languages like HTML, XML, etc.
• Any knowledge of database architecture and solutions is advantageous.
• Experience in Website design and Web application solutions and their implementation is highly desirable.
• Good written & verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well with people especially in the project development cycle
• Ability to take initiative and ownership of projects by working independently as well as in a team environment.
• The ability to keep abreast of new and emerging technology concept and usage such as Blogging, RSS, Web 2.0 will help in this role.
