IT System Administrator

We have an immediate opening for a System Administrator to join the IT team, reporting to the IT Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain corporate and production IT infrastructure to comply with established policies and procedures, including architecture, security and disaster recovery standards
- Monitor and report server performance; ensure the servers are backed up and test recovery procedures
- Create and maintain detailed support documentation relating to the servers (i.e. system configuration, schematics, operating procedures, disaster recovery procedures, and incidents)
- Assist in deployment, monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting corporate IT infrastructure and production systems
- Provide first level IT support to all corporate users including active directory, email and other applications
- Provide support to the development team and maintain IT systems related to development
- Conduct regular operational processes including installation, upgrading, deployment and maintenance of workstations and laptops
- Participate in resolving technical and connectivity issues of the corporate and production systems
- Participate in after-hour support, monitoring, system maintenance, and deployment

Qualifications:
- Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent IT certification
- 3 – 5 years experience in IT support, infrastructure maintenance and monitoring, and desktop technical support
- Work experience in a software development, web hosting and critical production environment
Expertise in the following areas:
- Setup and monitor performance monitoring and alerting tools
- Manage web systems in a load-balanced configuration running Microsoft technology stack
- Setup up and manage firewalls, physical networks, and VPNs
- Create, operate, and manage virtual machine environments
- Setup and manage Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory and DNS, DHCP, and Sharepoint Server
- Familiarity with Microsoft servers 2000, 2003 and 2008, MS Office Windows XP, Vista
Knowledge and experience in the following areas is a plus:
- Scripting languages such as Perl, VB
- Server Clustering
- MYSQL, apache and non-Microsoft OS’s
- Office phone systems
- Knowledge in web Content Management System, web marketing
