I've mentioned a few times that in addition to writing for Marqui's World, I  contribute to MarcomBlog. (As a quick reminder: MarcomBlog is a collaborative effort between a group of public relations/marketing professionals and students in Auburn University's Department of Communication and Journalism.)

I've been involved with MarcomBlog for the past year, and have been consistently amazed not only by the dedication of the teacher who started this project (Robert French), but also by the caliber of students participating in it.

Well, these students have raised the bar even higher with their new initiative: Forward. As described on the Web site, Forward is intended to serve as "the online springboard for new and upcoming PR professionals."

As part of this project, they are looking for PR professionals to contribute to the site (i.e., through comments, links, etc). So, for the PR types reading this post, please take a moment to check out the site...and then take a few more moments and find a way to contribute.

You'll be glad you did.

Dear PR Pros: Check Out Forward Blog. Now.

Thanks for your support of Forward, Tara! We appreciate your help in spreading the word about this new initiative.

While we do have a lot of Auburn students at the heart of this effort, we're actively working to expand our list of contributors to include more students and professionals from around the world. (We currently have Paull Young from Australia, who is proving to be a very valuable asset to the group.) We have even more prospects in the works, so we're hoping that will help to round out the Forward perspective.

We're also open to perspectives from outside the industry. One of the Forward contributors, Michael Mardis, is actually a human resources major at Auburn. She'll be giving tips about interviewing, resume-writing, etc. We're very fortunate to have her, as well.

And of course, as you mentioned, that perspective from the seasoned PR pros is oh-so-valuable.

Thanks again, Tara, for taking an active role - as you always do - to help those of us in the early stages of our PR endeavors.

forward-moving.com is a great website with a lot of insight into the real world of being a PR pro. I am not a PR pro just yet, but looking around the site made me proud to graduate from Auburn University with a PR degree. Erin is really working hard and her hard work is make a great name for the PR program here. I will certainly be keeping up with forward-moving.com as I get closer to graduation and look to keep up with latest trends in PR. Thanks again.
